Kadapa simmers with three MLAs go on `fast-unto-death` - Sakshi Post

YSR Congress Party MLA Srikanth Reddy's indefinite fast against the division of the state entered 4th day on Thursday.

Srikanth Reddy, Kadapa former mayor Ravindranath Reddy and the other YSRCP leaders Alladi Panduranga Reddy, Sampath Kumar and Hafizulla three days ago sat on a `fast unto death' protest demanding that the state be kept united.

On Thursday, Rajampet MLA A. Amarnath Reddy and Railway Koduru MLA K. Srinivasulu Reddy launched indefinite fast at Rajampet and Railway Koduru respectively.

Srikanth Redy and Ravindranath Reddy fell ill as their sugar levels drastically lowered. The doctors suggested for a treatment.

It is a known fact that the three MLAs submitted their resignation two days before the Congress Working Committee came out with its decision on July 30 to bifurcate the state and grant statehood to Telangana.

YSRCP honorary president YS Vijayamma will go on an indefinite hunger strike from August 19 protesting the manner in which the Congress party sought to divide Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, demonstrations against Congress president Sonia Gandhi and TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao were held at various places in the Seemandhra region. Public transport came to a grinding halt across Andhra-Rayalaseema as AP State Road Transport Corporation workers too continued the strike.
